Fighting fire with steel and glass for both internal and external applications

Securtask offer a full range of fire resistant (fire rated) steel glazed framing systems covering the full range of fire resistant performance requirements. All our products meet British Standard BS476 Part 22 and have been tested to the new European Standards.

Securtask Limited are an ASD-Architectural / Forster approved supplier of glazed steel fire rated systems from 30 minutes integrity only right through to 120 minutes integrity and insulation.

Fire rated doorsWhat are the ratings available to me? Integrity only: 30-120 minutes integrity (E30 – E120)
‘No flames or hot gases to appear on the unexposed side’

Performance
In the event of fire our integrity only glazed fire rated systems provides an effective barrier against the passage of smoke, flames and hot toxic gases. By remaining transparent and fully intact the glass allows persons making their escape and rescue services to be fully aware of any impending danger.

Framework – screens and doors

  • Extremely narrow cross-sections of profiles: case width 50mm
  • Size of frame / leaf only 130 mm
  • Section depth of frame and leaf only 50mm, flush-fitting
  • Variety of finishes available including polyester powder coating and stainless steel

lime st2Certification

  • 30-120 minutes integrity (E30 – E120) to BS 476: Part 22
  • Class A BS 6206:1981 safety glazing material
  • Certified to new Euronorm for steel screens EN 1364-1
  • Smoke-proof doors in the categories RS-1/RS-2 according to DIN 18095
  • Smoke-proof doors and screens in the category R30 (CH)
  • Burglar-resistant doors WK 1-2 according to DIN V ENV 1627

Integrity and Low radiation: 30 to 60 minutes integrity (EW30 – EW60
‘As above plus the radiated heat level in front of the glazing may not exceed 15 kW/m2’

Integrity and Insulation: 30-120 minutes integrity and insulation (EI30 – EI-120)
‘Heat shield function. Temperatures on the unexposed side of the specimen may not exceed an average of 140°C’

Performance
In the event of fire the special intumescent interlayers within the glass turn opaque and expand to form a fully insulating heat shield, effectively reducing the transmission of radiated and conducted heat. The layers also provide an integrity barrier against smoke, flames and hot toxic gases for in excess of 60 minutes (EI60) or for specified fire rating.

Framework – Insulated screens and doors

  • Extremely narrow cross-sections of profiles: case width 50 mm
  • Size of frame / leaf only 130 mm
  • Section depth of frame and leaf only 65 mm, flush-fitting
  • Variety of finishes available including polyester powder coating and stainless steel

Certification

  • Certified to both BS 476: Part 22 and EN 1364-1 from 30 to 60 minutes integrity and full insulation
  • (EI30-EI60) in steel frames and doors
  • Laminated safety glass, conforming to Class A BS 6206:1981
  • UV-stability tested in accordance with EN ISO 12543.3 PT. 6.5.2.

Fire Rated Curtain Walling System: 30-120 minutes integrity and insulation (EI30 – EI-120)
Our curtain wall system is a fully insulated mullion-transom construction based on the dry-glazing system. The load is borne by the steel or stainless steel profile structure erected on the inside.

The curtain wall system is remarkable for the extremely slim section widths (from 45 mm) and its excellent thermal insulation from 30 minutes integrity only right through to 120 minutes integrity and insulation.

All of our systems can be for internal or external applications
and have been stringently tested to all British and European standards
